Snakes, Snails, Puppy Dog Tails.

As you might as well know, this weekend was the Festival of Colors at the Hindu temple in Spanish Fork.  It was a grueling 2 and 1/2 hour drive down in some jam packed traffic but totally worth it to get a heaping of yellow chalk crammed into your mouth by some stranger. (We also serenaded the millions of cars we passed with full blast, top of our lungs, beautiful dulcet sounds).   Let me have you know, this was my first year at the Color Festival and it was such a crazy experience. If you have never attended, and you like to inhale the dust of a billion blue blistering barnacles, then this event is for you!

And it was good day.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Archery

My life just got a little cooler.  I'm the new archery instructor for Camp Roger.  You best believe it.
I'm going to look as good (if not, better) than Katniss Everdeen of the Hunger Games.
(Spock you better get in on this!)

Thank you, that is all.

Stay classy.

P.S.  I think for my next post, i might attempt to make a bow and arrows myself.  .. but maybe not.  We'll see how things go.

Geocache Master

My best buddy and I hit up some geocaching last night and it was totally the best. If you don't know, geocaching is kind of like treasure hunting.  People have hidden these little caches ALL over the place.  Some of them are really tiny while other are in jars and contain prizes!  You go to geocaching.com and find a cache near you (or not) and put the coordinates into your handy dandy GPS system and hit the trail!  It is basically the greatest and most rewarding thing when you actually find one.  Just remember, you take something- you put something in.  Basically geocaching is the greatest sport ever but be careful not to be MUGGLED (Non-caching folk).  So if you haven't tried this before, i highly suggest you grab a buddy and set out for some treasure.

Basically, the feeling of accomplishment you get when you find a good cache.
There are always great photo opportunities while out and about.
We were happy little campers.  We just found stickers and a temporary tattoo!

After, we hit up a dollar movie..

.. and drank so much root beer.
And to top it all off, I dared Robert to eat this super nast, super rank beefstick and cheedar cheese from the dollar store.  Long story short, we split it .. and i'm pretty sure i now have the bubonic plague.

Stay classy!

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Totally chillin in my British & American literature class and somehow we are talking about the 90's.  It's pretty chill.  Britney wants a Tomagatchi!  Basically this conversation is getting out of control and now all i want to do is go home and watch cartoons. .  which will probably be what is going to happen anyway.  Either cartoons or Man vs. Wild.  Apparently your shoelaces provide enough traction to climb a tree in the Floria Everglades!  Or.. "OH I JUST GOT DIVE BOMBED BY A SEAGULL!  They must be protecting their eggs.   ....  LETS GO GET SOME EGGS!"  Basically, crazy.  I also wouldn't mind the Bear Grylls survival kit, because you never know when you will be sliding down glacial ravines, or swimming across a river infested with crocodiles, or if you will ever be in the need of a leg amputation kit.

Anyway, you know how this was supposed to be a sewing blog?  Yeah, this picture should sum up my life and sewing:
Basically, it isn't happening.

Instead!  I've been writing this bogus essay about Harry Potter
Would you believe that I have never read these books all the way through in order?  I was working on that while in the midst of the spirit of competition against my good buddy Dan.. who is now in the West Indies, on his mission.  I should be creaming him right? Nah.  I am pretty sure we started this in 2008 and kind of just forgot about it.  We cruised through books 1-3 and kind of slowed down around book 4.  Now I'm pretty sure i'm halfway through book 5 but who even knows.  Maybe if i don't get an exciting job this summer at a camp, I'll consider starting the series over and actually finishing it all the way through this time.  Then I'd definitely school the competition and claim my prize..... whatever that prize may be.

Stay classy!  So long and thanks for all the fish!
