Pop Goes the World

As I have mentioned before, my rainbro for life, Spock and I are running a half marathon relay on 5 May 2012.  Yup, it's coming up real soon.  We have been planning to make ourselves matching t-shirts to wear while running and finally executed this plan on Saturday night.  Our team name, as you might recall from a previous post, The Bubonic Plague.  Here are the before and after..

For some reason we bought red, green and yellow dye and didn't even think about how it was Rasta colours but... it didn't turn out that way at all, so I ain't even mad.  RASTAFARIANISM! But mostly just bubonic.  The shirts turned out super rad and i'm way stoked to wear them in the race next Saturday! Wish us luck, because we are total misfits.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Do The Chickens Have Large Talons?

Alright little troopers, anyone addicted to Pottermore yet?  Because I sure am.  How can you not love Harry Potter!?

"Hello, Harry," said George, beaming at him. "We thought we heard your dulcet tones."

Not going to lie, I was super surprised when I was sorted in to GRYFFINDOR.  But you know, that's not the real reason i'm here posting.  The real reason is because the idea of forming a mash-up between two things that I cannot help but love has finally come into play.  What do you think about a cross over between Harry Potter and Napoleon Dynamite!
Ding! Ding! Ding!

Pouring over what houses and positions the cast of Napoleon Dynamite should be, Spock and I have come up with some pretty great stuff.

Napoleon, Kip and Pedro are all in Hufflepuff house for sure.  If you are having any type of trouble wrapping your head around this, just take a look at this INCREDIBLE picture Spock drew in light of the occasion.  Be ready to have your pants blown off.

More pictures to come.  (Hopefully)

Now think about this one for awhile.  You know our favourite puffy-sleeved, teenage boondoggle-selling, leading lady, Deb? Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff.  You decide for yourself.
"I like your robes, the sleeves are real big."
"Thanks, I made them myself."

Uncle Rico continues to live in the past always talking about when he was a quidditch star in his years at Hogwarts.  He continues to teach flying lessons to the first years and referees the matches.  He is also head of Hufflepuff and constantly eats steaks made by the house elves.

The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is Rex.  He is also the head of Gryffindor, because no one likes a loser, and well.. since Dumbledore decides that Gryffindor wins the house cup each year, it's the perfect place for Rex.
  Deflect the curse, walk away.
Do you think anybody wants a bodybind curse to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys?  (Red and Gold parachute pants)

Lafawnduh attends Beauxbatons.

And now for some mash-up quotes to please your eager little minds:

Napoleon wonders if Trisha will go to the Yule Ball with him.

"Do the chickens have large talons? "
"Do they what, Mr. Napoleon?"
"Large talons"
"Ten points from Hufflepuff"

Napoleon knows loads of facts about honey badgers.

Tina is a unicorn who teaches Divination and also likes to snack on Snape's robes every now and again.

Naploleon goes to Professor Rico's Pensive, it's his memory of his last quidditch match his last year at Hogwarts, "this is pretty much the worst memory ever made"  Kip replies" Napoleon, like anyone could ever know that."

Five points from Hufflepuff, Kip, for staying in the dorm and eating all the freakin' crisps!

"You know what Napoleon? YOU can leave."
"Freakin idiots!" *Stalks off to his dorm*

This is a 'sneagle.'  It's a mix between a snake and an eagle.  Pretty much my favourite animal.

"What potion are you gonna brew today, Napoleon?"
"Whatever I feel like I wanna brew. GOSH!"

Knock it OFF Napoleon! Ten points from Hufflepuff!

That's all for now!  Stay classy!

This post is a ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE FACE

I enjoy running. So sue me.  But really don't.  But seriously though, running.  I like it.  On 5 May 2012 is a half-marathon relay that I am signed up to run with my buddy Spock.  Even though she hasn't run for awhile, I am pretty sure she will be okay because she is a beast when it comes to these things.
Spock = CHUCK NORRIS.
Ding! Ding! Ding!

As much as I love running, unfortunately I am not that way.  With every step I take, and every move I make, every bond I break, every step I take... I am that much closer to spontaneous implosion.  SO, we'll see how this relay plays out.  The thought of it only being one month out is blowing my mind.  The only thing that is getting me through this is our team name: BUBONIC PLAGUE.  Did you know that the Bubonic plague took 1/3rd of Europe's population in the 15th century?  Did you know that bubos start to form in weird places like your armpits and knee pits and gland spots? Nope?  Well, if you must know, you might want to go ask someone else because I have never contracted the plague and maybe never will.. and now I have forgotten how I even came around on this subject. OH YEAH! Running!  The inspiration for this whole post was to say that I ran 3 miles straight in a pretty good time.  Double it.  Then double THAT.  Then I still have less the distance of a half marathon, which is my goal this year.  I hope to make it, through all the wheezing and gagging I WILL run a half marathon this year even if it kills me (and if it doesn't, maybe the plague will).

Stay classy!

PEE. ESS.  I had my first ever snack pack yesterday night and it was the most out of control thing I have ever experienced.  If you enjoy slimy, goopey, unflattering chunks of a food that is unknownst to be neither a solid or liquid, then snack packs are super great.  If you are like me and freak out when your food jiggles and slops off your spoon, then high fives to all of you.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
