The Rocketman

And as we laughed at the funny things and looked serious at the serious ones, I thought, my father goes to Saturn and Neptune.

It is the Same with Witches, They All Look Like Nice Ladies.

Wow, today has made me frlizzled as a fritter.  Hit up some City Creek, in which I probably bought some of the most hipster of items I have ever seen.  Got me some weird indie headband things, and some old lady floral hipster glasses.  As shown here.

As if that headband wasn't psychedelic enough for you.. I do have another.

That is all I have to say right now.  Robert, I hope you're happy.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Twisted Limbs

Hey little troopers.  It's finally me again.  I know it hasn't been *that* long (about three weeks) but it feels like forever to me.  I am only home to tell you the tale of Camp Roger because I am currently a gimp. Other than that-  Archery is going great!  As you might have seen on my facebook, I did manage to shoot an exact bull's eye.  It was glorious.

Yup.  There I am.  With my bow named Sugarcube.  We named all eight of our bows.  They include, Sugarcube, Napoleon, Reginald, Sir Mimsy de Porpington, Dr. Finklestein, The Nubatron, Algernon and Charlemagne.  It makes life easier because Spock and I know which exact two are the left handed bows.  (and it also makes a great bonus question for dog tag tests!)

Obviously I was super proud of this moment.  I left that arrow in there all through lunch and through the beginning of our afternoon lesson.  I was hoping the kids would appreciate it but the group we were teaching was the seven year old girls and they just didn't understand.  As I reluctantly pulled that arrow from the target to show the kiddos the proper way of retrieving, my heart sank a little bit.  But at least Spock took some nice pictures so I could remember this moment forever.  (original pictures found on facebook)

Spock looking absolutely spectacular. There was one lesson where the kids wanted a demonstration, so she pulls out an arrow, nocks it and shoots it SO close to the bull's eye and it blew the mind of every kid that happened to be there that day.  Even I am still oggling over the greatness.

Even though I'm an archery instructor, please do not look into this photograph and think that this is the proper stance to shoot an arrow.  Some things, even I, are flawed.

Meet James.  This kid has a hidden talent for archery and a fake mustache in this photo.  We now call him James Hood.  Direct descendant of Robin himself (or so we say).  He is English and even goes to school in Nottingham.  We are buddies.  He's Robin Hood and I'm Little John and we are searching for the merry men.

Britney and Sugarcube.  Dream team.

Mischievous Intentions

WHOOP.

Just a quick little post.

Spock and I are FINALLY leaving for Hawkeye camp, in which we will attempt to train little monsters how to be Robin Hood.  Starts tomorrow.  Yeah yeah!

Because this hasn't started yet, i don't have any pictures.  But instead, enjoy this picture of Dwight K. Schrute howling at the moon while wearing the exact wolf t-shirt that I desire.

It might be awhile until my next post, but I will do my best.

Stay Classy!

I See You're Drinking 1%

What are you going to do today, Napoleon?
Whatever I feel like doing, GOSH!

Yeah yeah!  Successfully completed the Dirty Dash 2012 spring race!  Channeling our inner liger, Spock and I dressed up as Kip and Napoleon Dynamite.  It was too priceless and Spock looked incredible.  There really is not much to say about a mud race, except that it was grimy and dirty and such a blast.  I cannot describe it to you as well as the pictures show.  Have a look and be jealous.

We look so good!  We looked so good that in fact a couple random people wanted to take our pictures. Wow.  That's magically delicious!  If you have never heard of the Dirty Dash or maybe you have, GO SIGN UP FOR IT RIGHT NOW.  And then dress up in something ridiculous.  It is the best five miles i've ever ran (minus trudging through the bog of eternal stench).  There are things to climb over, mud pools to jump in (and rejuvenate your skin) and even a GIANT slide.  The Dirty Dash is number one!

So long and thanks for all the fish!

PEE ESS: Credit goes to my mum for these fabulous pictures.  WOOT.

Charles In Charge

This is just a short little post about something that happened today that I thought was quite hilarious.  My dog, Charlie, has been scratching his neck raw which means we can't put a cone of shame around him to stop it.  So, last night my parents came up with the idea of tying a shirt around his neck to help him stop scratching it or something.  Basically, his foot gets caught and then scratching is evaded once more.  BUT TODAY, he goes down the steps into the backyard and when he comes back up, the shirt somehow managed to untie and he miraculously threaded his leg inside one of the arm holes and the other leg through the neck.  I was dying.  So i took this picture.

That is all.  Thanks for joining me today.  For an extra dose of excitement, please enjoy this picture of Spock trying to snowboard down Millie.

Stay classy!

Shawarma

Last night I saw The Avengers movie for the second time.  Accompanying me was Robert and Jenessa and it was a grand adventure.  First off, Tuesdays at the cinema are discounted!  Totaling only $6.00 at any time of the day, Tuesdays can't be beat.  The movie theater is also just down the street from Del Taco which also has discount tacos on Tuesdays.  If there is any other day of the week that is better than Tuesday, please let me know.  Anyway.. I was here to talk Avengers.  I think it might have been all the candy we ate and dinking around that happened that made this movie so hilarious.

In the very beginning, Black Widow is fighting guys while she is tied to a chair and flips her head back to knock out the guy behind her but she wasn't nearly close enough and only her hair hits him and yet he gets knocked out.  That must have been one wicked hair flip.  Watch this video, and keep your eyes peeled at about 28 seconds in.

Did you see it? Silly, huh?  It even has it's own sound effect.   I wish my hair possessed butt kicking qualities.

Continuing on, the other thing we noticed was how unbelievably cheesy Thor was in this movie.  He's a giant God from Asgard, you would think that he'd be super hard core.. but nope.  His scraggly hair, however, distracts you from ..

...I told you.  Enough of that.  The only thing cool about 2012 Thor is his mjolnir.  (Thanks to Robert, I now know what that is.)  I am also wondering what happened to Thor's sweet, sweet helmet?  Where is that lightening-bolt, wingéd cap?  Maybe if he had it, hiding his rat nest, he might be a little more tolerable.  OH.  Also, to those of you who have seen this movie, can you answer me this:  How does Thor even get to Earth?  Super confused on that.  Let that befuddle your mind, but if you have any idea of how he came to be, let me know.

Moving on.  The next thing I want to touch on is HOW INCREDIBLY AWESOME HAWKEYE'S BOW AND QUIVER ARE.  As a future archer, I was oggling over how insane he is.  Bom bom bom!  I want to be this cool when I grow up.  He even shoots arrows that turn into weird USB ports (Jenessa and Robert.. you know what I'm talking about) and grappling hooks!  His quiver, automatically sets the arrow and rotates it so he can grab them with easy access.  All around, I'm a fan of Hawkeye.  Even if he has angst at the beginning of the movie.

Lastly, my favourite character of the whole movie- Loki: God of Mischief.  Tom Hiddleston is such a slink and he's perfect.

I read or heard somewhere that he originally auditioned for the part of Thor but they thought he'd be much better for the role of Loki.  Oh man, I can't even imagine if Tom Hiddleston played Thor.  I'm super happy he didn't, because The Avengers wouldn't have been nearly as perfect as it is with him as the villain.  The dapper young fellow.  Just from looking at those pictures,  I know you want to go style your hair in a mullet-like fashion to match the likeness of Loki.  Who wouldn't?

Well, in a really roundabout way of saying, if you have not seen The Avengers yet, you should go see it, just for T-Hiddles.  I do what I want, Thor!

Jenessa and I are going to somehow dress up as Loki and Hawkeye and terrorize the mall. If you want in, claim your Avenger and assemble.

So long and thanks for all the fish!
